We'll do a 10 min easy run and some warm up drills, then a 3k race.
What is a Handicap Race?
In a handicap race, everyone has a shot at crossing the finish line first!
Start times are staggered based on your anticipated finish time, meaning slower runners set off first and the fastest runners chase from behind. If the handicapper gets the math right, the entire group will be sprinting for the line together!

🚀 Why Run a 3k If You’re Training for a 5k?
Wondering how a shorter 3km effort fits into your 5km training? It’s actually one of the most effective workouts you can do! Here’s why:
VO2 Max Boost: Running at a slightly faster pace than your 5k race pace forces your cardiovascular system to adapt, pushing up your aerobic ceiling so 5k pace feels easier.
Speed Endurance & Mental Toughness: A 3k race teaches you how to push through leg fatigue and manage that "comfortably hard" effort without burning out.
Running Economy: Pushing the pace improves stride efficiency and neuromuscular coordination, helping you run smoother and faster at all distances.
Pacing Practice: Chasing runners down (or running hard to stay ahead!) gives you real race-day adrenaline and tactic practice without the heavy recovery toll of a longer race.
