A structured workout designed to get you fitter! 300 meters at 5k pace, then 300m at just under 10k pace. 1 minute full recovery, then repeat.
The science is that you're running just over and then just under your ‘lactate threshold’. Lactate threshold is the point during exercise when your body starts producing lactic acid faster than it can clear it, making your muscles feel tired and heavy. It's the fastest pace you can maintain for a long time without burning out.
Running intervals just over and just under the threshold trains your ability to flush lactic acid more efficiently.
